John received his doctorate in 2023, winning the outstanding dissertation award from UTEP with his collaborated study with TMS El Paso. During your initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to share your unique life situation, experiences, challenges, and goals. This dialogue is the foundation upon which we build your path to neuro-wellness and better living.
Our program director will demo the Zen Focus neurofeedback programs and provide you with all the necessary information you need to begin your journey. 2. Receive your training kit, Brain Map & Assessment, & Personalized Plan
Once enrolled, you will receive your Muse EEG device, your program director will conduct your qEEG brain mapping, overall assessment, and will build your personalized program plan.

Once enrolled, the second step in your journey is the essential process of qEEG Brain Mapping. Every individual’s brain is distinct, just as their challenges and aspirations vary. That’s why we use Myndlift’s advanced software to conduct a sequential qEEG Brain Map. This allows us to gain a deeper understanding of your brain’s intricate functions, creating a brain map. This critical step sets the foundation for a comprehensive and personalized plan tailored to your unique needs.
First, ZenFocus will provide you with your Myndlift Neurofeedback Kit. This kit is leased (free of charge) to you for the duration of your program. There is a lease contract which must be signed along with a security deposit ($150/$250) which will be returned when you turn in your device after completing your program.
Next, one of our program directors will guide you through use and setup of your device and conduct your qEEG brain mapping. The qEEG Brain Mapping process provides valuable insights into the frequency and location of your brain’s activity. It’s akin to creating a detailed roadmap of your brain’s functioning, enabling us to identify the underlying causes of any mind and body issues you may be experiencing and finding areas which can improve your performance and well-being. During this you will also complete several questionnaires and computerized tasks to measure different brain functions and your current mental health status.
Once the brain mapping is complete, our program director will review the results with you. This is a pivotal moment, as it helps us connect the dots between your brain, your specific issues, your behaviors, and your overall well-being. With the data from your brain mapping, a comprehensive and personalized plan will be tailored to your individual needs, current issues, and goals. This plan serves as the guiding blueprint for your neurofeedback program.

3. Perform Your Remote Meditation Sessions

Once you’ve completed your qEEG Brain Mapping and received your personalized plan, you are ready to start your neurofeedback program from the comfort of your own home utilizing Myndlift application.
Our remote training sessions are user-friendly and accessible through an app on your tablet or smartphone. These neurofeedback sessions consist of games, videos, or audio. These all react in real time to your brain waves. Reinforcement allows your brain to automatically adapt to the desired brain waves in specific areas. Through repeated sessions your brain uses neuroplasty to rewire and strenghten connections in positive pathways.
Likewise, there are sessions where you can watch your favorite YouTube or Streaming service videos while training your brainwaves.
How does this work? When your brainwaves match the zones set by your program director, you move forward in the neurofeedback game. For videos, audio, or streaming, the volume goes up and the video gets brighter. If your brainwaves are outside these zones, you won’t move forward in the game, and the screen will go black with very low sound. Based on your qEEG brain map and symptoms, neurofeedback will train certain brainwaves in specific areas to meet your needs.
The remote neurofeedback meditations via Myndlift and Muse are a unique offering, combining the power of meditation with cutting-edge neuroscience. Not only does our device detect brainwaves, but also monitors movement and your heartbeat – this allows your to get critical insight on your body and mind while emerged in a calming and rich meditative environment via audio feedback.
Achieving optimal results through neurofeedback requires consistent effort, with most individuals undergoing 20-30 minute sessions 5-7 times a week. Typically, about 30 to 60 sessions are needed to reach desired outcomes.
